Management Team

CEO and Co-Founder, Tom D’Orazio

Tom is a biotech and pharmaceutical executive with 20 years of industry experience building teams, launching products, seeking licensing partners, and managing strategic commercial alliances.

Prior to founding Superna, Tom was VP, Strategic Planning and Business Development at Protox Therapeutics where he was in charge of seeking product development partners and developing strategic plans for Protox pipeline candidates. Prior to Protox Tom was VP, Strategic Marketing at Sonus Pharmaceuticals, where he managed the commercial relationship with Bayer Pharmaceuticals, developed strategic plans to guide the development of pipeline products, and led strategic decision making on building a commercially integrated operation in North America. Tom came to Sonus after five years at QLT Inc where he managed the commercial relationship with Novartis and built a specialty sales team in the US market. Prior to QLT, he was a brand manager for five years at Pharmacia, where he managed the planning and launching of a new business unit. Prior to Pharmacia he worked with Immunex Corporation and Merck in sales and marketing.

President and Co-Founder, Bruce Clarke

Bruce is a biotech and pharmaceutical executive with 15 years industry experience and offers a solid mix of commercial experience across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and life sciences consulting.

Prior to founding Superna, Bruce spent five years as the founder and principal of Selkirk Strategy Consultants, a commercial consulting services company focused on biotechnology, biopharma and medical device companies. Key services offered by Selkirk included: commercial assessment around product development, business development consulting, product and financial forecasting, and sales and market analysis. Prior to launching Selkirk, Bruce worked at QLT Inc. in market research and business development roles for five years, where he worked on market research for Visudyne, sat on cross-functional oncology drug development teams and participated in business development activities, including contributing to the $800M acquisition of Atrix Laboratories. Prior to QLT Bruce worked for Schering-Plough in a number of commercial roles: two years a hospital sales representative and three years in market research and marketing Schering’s key Canadian brands.
